An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and ambitious person to join the Community Services Team as our Community Development Partner – Arts.
We are looking for a self-motivated and organised individual with a current knowledge of public art policy and community arts practice that will be able to lead on the delivery of public art projects and programmes across the two district’s as part of a committed arts team.
You will have a role to play in establishing community arts activity within new housing developments too. With skills to build and maintain close working relationships with appropriate external agencies, landowners, planners, communities and developers you will be able to broker and maximise opportunities for public art development in Cherwell and South Northants.
You will be able to demonstrate where you have experience in delivering projects on mid to large developments and the specialist skills required to manage and monitor public art projects from start to completion.
You will have experience of commissioning work and projects as well as a current knowledge of artists working in this area. Working across both Cherwell and South Northants district areas you will have experience of effective networking, be diplomatic, politically astute and a great team player. An understanding of funding, fundraising and budget setting and management are increasingly important skills.
You will have excellent communication skills and be confident in representing the Council with both internal and external partners. You will be comfortable writing reports and setting up monitoring templates to feed back to members and stakeholders.
Flexibility is very important as there will be a need to attend meetings and events outside normal working hours during the evening or at weekends. As well as holding a full driving licence and having use of a vehicle you must be able to manage your time effectively
