War & Peace 2016. BBC series.

Is there a better way to spend your Sunday nights than by watching an expensive BBC drama, with elaborate plots, sets and costumes? Because there isn’t. War & Peace shows what television can be like at its very best. The sets are superb, the costumes unique and the cast is an acting masterclass. Lilly James, Paul Dano and James Norton are three of Britians best young actors today. And to watch them acting on screen together is a experience like no other.

The BBC has spent millions of pounds per episode. And that is clearly evident. Each episode is filled with amazing, costumes and effects. the war sequences are brilliant. But you do have to look away when a leg gets chopped off. And I wonder if they really needed to show a person’s head flying through the air!

This is the only program on television today that can make you love a character and then make you hate them and then you forgive them and then you hate them. Thats what your mind is going through when you watch this every week. The continuous side lining of one of the three main characters, and then suddenly one becomes the main character, and then that character isn’t the main character is brilliant to watch. One of the things that stands out in this program is the way that the plot slowly moves every character, the way that each gets their own moment as if they were the main character. I really like that.

There’s tension and continual excitement in this unique program. The central cast is fantastic, the script is brilliant and the sets and costumes blow you away. War & Peace is a amazing British series that creates a perfect television experience. And for ever more whenever I eat bread I will always add a pinch of salt.

Noah. I am 12 years old and I am writing all the film and TV reviews that you will see on this page. I love films. I love them because how they take you into a completely different world to your own. Films take you on an emotional journey, whether they make you cry or laugh films are wonderful. Even the terrible ones make you laugh, because they are so terrible. Films have the ability to show us other worlds and show us how the world that we live in is changing.
