Excitement was mounting as The Red Carpet opened at the biggest beauty event of the year, The Beauty Awards 2019 with ASOS.
James and Michelle Sutton from Butterflies Healthcare were lucky to have not one but TWO cosmetics competing in the final and even luckier to win the New Eye Innovation Award 2019 for their Eye Care Cosmetics Waterproof Eyeliner.
”We arrived dressed in our finest to the amazing City Central at HAC. The red carpet celebrity photography commenced, followed by dinner and the Awards, hosted by Caroline Flack” (host of Love Island (and previously The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!).
Along with Beauty Magazine and the ASOS team, they were joined by almost 1000 other execs, celebs, and influencers, all there to celebrate the world of beauty.
”The glitzy awards ceremony celebrated the latest and greatest products in UK beauty retail and to win so early in the evening really made it a night to remember.”
As an optician, James came across Eye Care Cosmetics over 20 years ago as the range is designed for those with sensitive eyes, skin or blepharitis. The entire range excludes known irritants such as nickel, chrome and parabens and prepares the remaining ingredients in a special way to reduce the risk of a reaction and boost the skin’s natural defences.
Michelle a pharmacist, knows from customer feedback and her own personal experience of sensitive skin that switching to irritant-free cosmetics and skincare benefits many women who struggle to wear make-up.
Eye Care Cosmetics are available locally from Walford & Round Opticians in Banbury and Brackley

The Beauty Awards(tm) brings together beauty manufacturers, end consumers and retailers. All products entered are tried and tested by a panel of industry experts; their findings determine the Shortlist. The Shortlist is showcased in October through to mid-November to the UK consumer, the beauty industry and beauty retailers. Over 250,000 votes were cast this year to decide the winners.
For the first time this year, global online fashion and Face+Body retailer ASOS became the overall sponsor and event partner. Voting was hosted at ASOS.com and winning products will now have the opportunity to pitch to ASOS’ beauty buying team. A Winners’ Showcase highlighting all winning and highly commended products will be distributed to 300,000 ASOS customers at the beginning of December, precisely timed to offer the consumer the best in beauty for Christmas.
James and Michelle Sutton are an optometrist and pharmacist husband-and-wife team who specialise in eye health products including drops, vitamins, cosmetics for sensitive eyes and prescription swimming goggles. Their company Butterflies Healthcare is based at Warkworth, Banbury.
