The Ponderosa at Banbury Folk Club

8:00 pmThe Banbury Cross Pub 7 Butchers Row, Banbury, Oxfordshire OX16 5JH

    the-ponderosa-at-banbury-folk-club

    Banbury Folk Club present....

    The Ponderosa.

Banbury Folk Club is back with a great band to start off our 2017 programme!

The Ponderosa are Rod Craig (mandolin/vocals), Kate Saunders (fiddle/vocals), Simon Stafford (vocals/guitar), and Colin Tester (percussion).

Hailing from the gently rolling hills and river valleys of Oxfordshire, they play an infectious blend of the familiar and obscure: traditional and contemporary acoustic music played with passion and energy, by turns sublime and rabble rousing.

The Ponderosa can be guaranteed to start off the Club Year with a bang!

Supporting The Ponderosa will be Rachel Ruscombe King, who is a singer songwriter from Oxford. T

he former frontwoman of Ragdoll, who gigged regularly in Oxford until 2014, Rachel has since developed her own brand of solo work which has been described as a cross between early Cat Power, Sandy Denny and Feist, featuring 'sundrenched vocals' (Nightshift Magazine), intricate finger picked guitars, along with a quirky atmospheric twang.

In 2016 Rachel released ‘Vivid EP’, which features a full band made up of some of Oxford’s finest musicians.

Admission £8/Cons £7 on the door
